Winter 2026: Here are the weather predictions from the Farmersâ Almanac
The indispensable  Old Farmerâs Almanac  has finally released its forecasts for the winter of 2026-2027. What can we expect? A cold winter or a mild one? A lot or a little snow? We now know the answers for Quebec!

According to the weather forecast, temperatures in  Quebec  are likely to be ânear or above normal.â Itâs our neighbors in southeastern  Ontario  and  northern Newfoundland and Labrador  who will experience below-normal temperatures.

Furthermore, while southern Quebec will experience milder weather at the end of 2026, residents will need to dress warmer for the rest of winter, as âcolder temperatures and more snow are forecast for the new year,â according to the magazine. These conditions are expected to last from mid-January to mid-February, or even until the end of the month.
A lot or a little snow?
Southern Quebec will experience above-normal snowfall. The same is true for Atlantic Canada and southern Ontario.
Obviously, you shouldnât take all this information at face value! These are just predictions. On this subject,  Carol Connare , editor-in-chief of the Old Farmerâs Almanac ,  explains that itâs difficult for the organization to make predictions that apply to the entire country, as âCanada is simply too vast.âÂ
