MUSICAL CHAIRS. After three years, Belinda Tate is leaving her post as executive director of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, reports the Mirror Indy. During her time at the museum, she built a reputation for prioritizing women and artists of color in exhibitions like “Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting-Edge Kicks” and “The Message is the Medium.” Perhaps most famously, she led efforts to invite Alicia Keys to showcase her collection at the museum, in an exhibition called “Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Kasseem ‘Swizz Beatz’ Dean and Alicia Keys.” “I am proud of the role I have played in advancing the Indianapolis Museum of Art and helping position it for its next chapter,” said Tate in a statement released by the museum.
